A new two lane bridge over river Indus downstream of the existing bridge over river Indus at Ghazi Ghat has been planned and designed by A. A. Associates for Punjab Highway Department, C & W Department, Government of the Punjab. The new bridge is 1045 m long, with 22 spans of 47.50 m each. The width is 11.575 which cater for two lane traffic, 1.00 m wide shoulders and a pedestrian walkway of 1.50 m width. The bridge substructure consists of 2 0 m diameter cast in place concrete piles and RCC transoms. The superstructure consists of transversely stressed continuous deck slab with pre-stressed 47.50 m and 2.262 m deep girders. The cost of the Project is estimated to be Rs. 360 Million. The scope of services included detailed surveys, sub-soil investigations, hydrological studies, traffic studies, detailed design of the bridge, approaches, and training works and culverts, preparation of cost estimates, feasibility studies, PC-1 and tender documents. The work had been completed and final design, drawings and documents stand submitted to the Punjab Highway Department. |
