Sukkur Bypass
Sukkur Bypass is 11.30 km long four lane divided controlled access road connecting N-5 with N-65. The pavement consist of aggregate base with asphaltic concrete. The major bridge is on River Indus downstream of Sukkur Barrage with a length of 1.600 km. The bridge is founded on 2 m Concrete piles with transom and superstructure consisting of 36 spans of 43 m length, with six girders per span and transversely stressed deck slab. There are seven (7) bridges on canals and one bridge over railway track from Sukkur to Shikarpur. Construction cost of project is $ 25.500 million, funded by GOP/ADB. This project has been fully designed by A. A. Associates and vetted by COWI of Denmark. The construction supervision has been provided in association with COWI.
